How to Connect Android Auto

Before You Start

AutoPro X allows users to choose between AutoPro X (DeX) and wireless Android Auto functions.

Below is the method for selecting and using the wireless Android Auto feature.

1. Wireless Android Auto Connection Method

1-1. Cable Connection

Connect AutoPro X to the vehicle's communication (data) port.

Ensure that the LED on the AutoPro X device is lit:

  • Red LED: Booting (starting)

  • Blue LED: Android Auto connection

  • Green LED: X mode (DeX) connection

1-2. Select Android Auto

On the AutoPro X initial screen displayed on the vehicle, select Android Auto (on the left).

1-3. Bluetooth Connection

First, activate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your smartphone. In Bluetooth settings, select AutoProX-XXXX to connect. Once Bluetooth is connected, Wi-Fi will connect automatically. Do not disable Wi-Fi.

2. No Response After Connecting Bluetooth

If there’s no response after connecting AutoPro X to Bluetooth, check the following:

2-1. Android Auto Support

Ensure your phone supports Android Auto. Check Google’s supported Android version (Android 6.0 or higher).

2-2. Wireless Android Auto Setup

Ensure that wireless Android Auto is enabled in the Android Auto app. Enable wireless Android Auto as follows:

STEP01 Phone ▶ Settings ▶ Device Connections ▶ Android Auto App

STEP02 Android Auto ▶ Start Tab ▶ Auto Start Android Auto ▶ Set to 'Always'

STEP03 Android Auto ▶ Tap the 'Version' tab 10 times ▶ Enable Developer Settings

STEP04 Top right 'More' ▶ Developer Settings ▶ Enter Developer Settings

STEP05 Developer Settings ▶ Check Wireless Android Auto

3. No Internet Connection

If Android Auto connects but there’s no internet, check the following:

3-1. Disable Power Saving Mode

STEP01 Phone ▶ Settings ▶ Device Connections ▶ Wi-Fi

STEP02 Wi-Fi ▶ Top right 'More' ▶ Intelligent Wi-Fi ▶ Power Saving Mode ▶ Disable

3-2. Allow Mobile Data

STEP01 In Intelligent Wi-Fi ▶ Switch to Mobile Data ▶ Exception Network ▶ Delete registered AutoPro device.

STEP02 Exception Network ▶ Delete registered AutoPro device.

4. Bluetooth Connection Issues

If you have Bluetooth connection issues, try one of the following methods:

4-1. Delete Bluetooth and Reconnect

STEP01 Phone ▶ Settings ▶ Connections ▶ Bluetooth

STEP02 Bluetooth ▶ Registered AutoPro Details ▶ Unregister

STEP03 Bluetooth ▶ Search ▶ Re-register AutoPro (AutoProX-XXXX)

4-2. Reset Device

If the product is not functioning properly, reset it via the app. Resetting the device will clear the following:

  • App default settings

  • Wi-Fi channel settings

  • AutoPro X settings
