# How to Connect DeX

**Before we start**

AutoPro X is designed to allow users to use the features they want between AutoPro X (DeX) and wireless Android Auto.

This guide is for AutoPro X (Samsung DeX) connection. (How to connect Samsung DeX)

Please make sure that your smartphone supports DeX.

Please check if the LED is on for the AutoPro X product.

## **1.** Connect the cable.

Connect the AutoPro X to the 'communication' port of the vehicle, and wait for the AutoPro to start.

## **2.** Connect Android Auto.

Connect and use Android Auto for the first time before using DeX.

**In the following cases, connect Android Auto once.**

* On first purchase
* After updating the firmware of the product
* If you **reset your device** from the **app's Settings menu**

### **2-1.** Select Android Auto

On the AutoPro X initial screen that is exposed to the vehicle screen, select Android Auto (left in the picture).

### **2-2.** Bluetooth connection

Enable <mark style="color:red;">**Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your smartphone first**</mark>. In Bluetooth settings, select AutoProX-XXXX to connect. Once the Bluetooth connection is complete, the Wi-Fi will connect automatically.\
(**You don't need to connect Wifi!**)

### **2-3.** Android Auto Connections

Android Auto is automatically connected. Select the app button in the lower left corner of the screen.

### **2-4.** Move to the vehicle home

Select the first car icon on the app list screen to go to the home screen.

## **3.** Select AutoPro X.

On the vehicle navigation screen, select AutoPro X (right).

## **4.** Run DeX.

You can run DeX in three ways.

### 4-1. Using the top slide of the screen <mark style="color:red;">(Recommended)</mark>

### 4-2. Using 'Connected Devices' in Settings

## 6. Exit DeX

### 6-1. On the phone

To exit DeX mode, tap on the DeX icon and select **Exit DeX**.

### 6-2. On the car
